Work continues at Little Plum Place. We have finished a room! This room was an addition to the original church and is just behind the main sanctuary. This is what the room looked like when we first viewed the property back in November. Rick and I were both tired of trying to find hammers, screws, levels and other items needed for remodeling. Constantly digging through buckets and boxes was taking too much of our time, so I took a couple of days away from the basement and concentrated on “the man cave”. (Also known as the Shoot and Sew room). By using reclaimed lumber and some old table tops from the wood shed, I managed to build a significant work bench with storage-all for the cost of a box of screws and a quart of poly. A big thanks to my dad for helping to move 2 X 8 X 16 fir lumber from the wood shed, schlepping said lumber through 4 inches of snow and helping to rip it to size on the table saw (thank goodness it was a nice afternoon outside to work). This beautiful 3 X 12 table is a joy to sort items, plan our next project and we have even used it as a lunch counter. In the opposite corner of the room sits my much smaller sewing center. We can now quickly find most hand tools (when we remember to put them back after a project) and work continues, along with the occasional discussion about the ‘best’ tools. Rick likes Milwaukee and I am a DeWalt fan….and life, like our project, moves on.
